Nina Van Staden
RYT 250, Alliance Certified
Nina is a former preschool teacher and professional photographer, who changed careers to feed her love for creative movement and yoga. Over the past two years, Nina has been teaching (and learning!) all styles of yoga including teen yoga, partnered yoga, ashtanga yoga, acrobatic yoga, and meditation. She is also passionate about dance and will often mix this element into her yoga flows and practise. She ran her own photo business for 10 years, and is a self-taught watercolor artist. She considers herself a movement artist and an artist of all kinds.
Her passion for meditation and mental wellness has led her to join the board of directors for Minds over Matter Mental Health Society in February 2015. A brand-new organization focused on prevention, education and community. Her role there is to educate the community about the importance of yoga and meditation, and how these play a big role in mental health and wellbeing.
She is a firm believer in self-development, and is always taking workshops to improve her skills and deepen her practise. She is an instructor that truly strives to practice what she teaches every day.
