Miss Sarah began her dance journey at the age of 3 and started competing at the age of 9. Dance was her life growing up and she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop. She competed nationally and internationally in Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop and has attended many different dance workshops; some of which were hosted by Mia Michaels, Justin Timberlake’s dance team, members of PDC and more.
Miss Sarah began assistant teaching at her dance company at the age of 13, and started teaching her own competitive dancers at the age of 18. She studied in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Focus Dance Studio, and Kick it Dance Studio. When she was a teenager, her Hip Hop group won nationals and she competed In Germany at Hip Hop Worlds Dance Competition. When she came home, she decided to join a Hip Hop crew called un1te, to take her dancing to the next level.
Sarah is excited to be part of Soul Connexion’s teaching team and looks forward to seeing where her dance journey will take her. She hopes to inspire her students as her dance teachers once did for her.
Q&A with Miss Sarah
What inspires you?
Music and emotion! Choreographing a dance and watching my students pour their heart and soul into it, is so inspiring! I just love it!
What song moves you?
This is a hard one! It totally depends on the day and my mood. From Eden by Hozier! (Although, all Hozier is great.)
What do you love about your job?
I love helping students find their strengths as dancers, and watching them grow as individuals!
