While cutting sugar out entirely can seem very daunting, there are so many ways you can begin to reduce the amount of sugar you consume!Eliminating sugar from your diet entirely can seem like an impossible task. However, there are unlimited ways in which you can reduce the amount of sugar you intake. Take a look at these examples for ways to cut back sugar intake in a day:
Breakfast: Replace flavored yogurt with plain nonfat Greek yogurt. To add natural sweetness, top with a low-sugar fruit. (raspberries or blueberries are excellent choices.)
Lunch: Reduce the amount of condiments (ketchup, mayonnaise etc,) in your sandwich or burger by 50%. Instead of choosing soda or juice, compliment your lunch with a refreshing glass of water.
Afternoon: Switch from Grande to Tall and order with low-fat milk and half the syrup for your afternoon latte. Or to reduce sugar even more, try coffee with 2 tablespoons of cream.
Dinner: For your spaghetti dinner, use whole wheat pasta and create a homemade pasta sauce using canned tomatoes instead of the jarred sauce.
