Emma Rees

Hello Soul Connexion friends and families! My name is Emma Rees and I love sharing my passion for dance. I am a recent high-school graduate and am taking open studies at Mount Royal University this upcoming fall. I have completed all three years of the Soul Connexion Apprentice program and I am very passionate about teaching and growing connections with my students. Dance has been a huge part of my life since I was three years old. It is so meaningful to me that I can continue to be in the dance environment and teach what I have learned from all of my years being involved at Soul Connexion.

What inspires you?

• Something that inspires me is the beauty and kindness in people. When people are kind just purely because that's the person they are, it makes me feel motivated to be the very best version of myself forever and always

What song moves you?

• A song that moves me is “Brightside” by the Lumineers. The song is essentially about being the best side or the brightest side of any day no matter how bad things may get

What do you love about your job?

• Something I love about my job is connecting with my students. It brings me so much happiness when I can be someone people look forward to seeing at dance, and it makes me feel good to know that I can bring joy to so many people

Describe Soul Connexion in one word

• If I had to describe Soul Connexion in one word I would choose “authentic”. By choosing “authentic” or “authenticity” I mean that our studio is genuine and the community we have built is true to our personalities, values and souls. I am so excited to continue being a part of Soul Connexion!
